I really value working with the fund, the partnership and the mutual respect. I’m glad to have someone on the other side I can always run things by: an idea, a thought, or a situation that isn’t always pleasant. On the other side there are genuinely experienced managers, whose experience I’ve relied on time and again. Their advice is worth hearing, even if it isn’t always obvious at the very start. At the end of the day, I can admit they were right 90% of the time. We take on challenges together, and it’s easier to take certain risks when an experienced manager has also cast an eye over them.

Questions we actually
get asked.

Real answers about how we invest, what we look for, and how to work with us.

What do you invest in?

We invest in founders first. The ones who are determined, resilient and always raise the bar. We invest in projects with incredible outcomes, whatever that may be. In our portfolio we have AI products/infrastructure and products connecting hardware and software.

How the investing process looks like and how long is it?

We're flexible on timing and genuinely curious about what you're building. We start with a quick read of your idea - if it adds up, we meet. Then we dig into the market, technology, problem, and competition. If everything holds up, we move fast and wire the money.

Sometimes that takes weeks. Sometimes days. Our record is an 8-minute pitch to wire :)

What do you need to start a talk with a startup?

We need to understand your goals, ambitions, and domain-specific expertise. We need to understand the problem you're solving in depth. Why now is a good moment to start? We prefer Doers, not Thinkers, so we don't need a deck or any other materials in the pre-seed.

How do you help after investing?

Our team built great companies, we aren't just capital. Our partners and operating bench are on call for the life of our investment: pricing, hiring, GTM, strategy, finance, technology.

What is your investment horizon and the exit approach?

We are a private fund; we do not have any institutional or public LPs money. Flexibility is our strong end here, meaning that we can wait for a bigger win.

Are you investing in CEE only or outside of the region too?

We're rooted in CEE, Poland especially and have expanded across Europe and the US.

For niche markets, Europe is enough. For categories with low defensibility, we back US-based startups or founders ready to relocate. We are very keen on investing in Polish or CEE diaspora in the US.

Do you invest in equipment/companies with physical tools?

Yes, in our portfolio you find a lot of similar startups (Pocket, CTHINGS, WIMBA, etc.). We like startups connecting hardware physicality and software capabilities.

Where are you from?

We are based in Amsterdam and Cracow, our operating team is located in Cracow.

Does the fund reinvest EU or state money?

No, we invest only private money without institutional LP.

What is the level of flexibility of the fund in non-standard situations?

We invest part of the funds in companies that don't fit the traditional VC mold, for eg. Yokaba, also we're one of the few funds in CEE that can do secondary deals.

Lead or co-investor - what role do you play in the round?

We are willing to be both. No matter the role, we value the partnership.

Do you invest at the Pre-revenue stage?

We back builders, not planners. Revenue takes time, we get that. What we look for early on is momentum: waitlists, calls made, customers chased.

We don't invest in mock-ups.

How long did the shortest investment process take and how much did you invest?

8 minutes. The founder had an incredible idea, and the conviction to build something massive. 200 000 € initial investment.

What experience do fund employees have?
  • Adam founded, led and exited Veracomp SA. to a 2B PLN business across 21 european markets and has built several businesses since.
  • Tomasz brings twenty-five years of building and managing B2B sales across CEE, much of it at Veracomp SA, the region's largest value-added IT distributor, later part of Exclusive Networks. That commercial and go-to-market experience is exactly what he now puts to work hands-on alongside the founders we back.
  • Krystian spent several years in a PE boutique before making the jump to VC. He led various projects in the past, financial modelling, company evaluation, budget optimization and company exits are his specialty. Still waiting for his big win :).
  • Jakub studied AI and Robotics in Denmark, one of his projects caught the attention of the Danish Ministry. Now he makes sure we actually understand what founders are building.
  • Katarzyna spent many years in various roles - including running her own company - before ultimately landing in a VC fund, where she draws on each of those experiences daily. Kasia joined Level2 with various experience from financial institutions.
What do you do in your free time?

Our hobbies span from piloting planes and Ju-Jitsu to running, golf and embroidery. The fund keeps us busy enough.

Why can I trust you?

We've built from scratch, so we know what the hard parts actually feel like. One of the few things that we enjoy is taking calls on Saturday afternoon.

How fast do you reply to the deck?

Up to 10 days. We strive to be as fast as possible, but we're often heads-down with portfolio companies. Either way, we'll get back to you.

If I'm not matching VC, what kind of support can I count on?

If you're the right founder but your business doesn't fit the VC model, we still want to talk. When you know why now is a good moment to build, we'll find a way to make it work.
